Syrian landscapes (part 3)

The main advantage of the work lies in color harmony, lighting features, characteristic of the second half of the day, when the sun from the zenith begins to decline. The brown flat walls of buildings with a fancy play of yellow and white spots laid on the canvas broadly and softly are masterfully conveyed. Only under balconies and in the depths of door and window openings appear blue and green shades, reviving the range of the landscape. The right part is painted in warm colors of a gradually fading light. The left side is colder, it is designed in blue, blue and slightly whitened colors.

In general, the Gazi Khaldi painting is distinguished by its density and materiality. It gives rise to a feeling of eternity of the ancient walls of the city, seen by the kind look of an attentive and vigilant master.

Even this brief overview of landscape painting in Syrian art of the last twenty years clearly demonstrates the constant desire of artists to develop realistic traditions. A true reflection of reality, the accumulation of life observations, the desire to capture the most characteristic corners of the country’s nature, dear and close to every patriot, to feel the rhythm of life of contemporaries are the main tasks of Syrian artists.
